Harinama Diksha
Harinama Diksha, or Initiation, is an essential stage of spiritual life. The Vedas provide insight into the soul’s journey in the material world. All beings are trying to fulfil their material desires by traveling through various evolutionary stages in many different species of life. All living beings strive to satisfy their physical and mental needs as they progress through these stages. Out of these entities who wish to understand the true purpose of life, the Lord – seated in the heart – guides them to a guru who can impart spiritual knowledge and answer their questions.
Our Programs offers a supportive and inspiring environment for young people to explore their spirituality, develop their character, and grow in Krishna consciousness. Join us to learn more about the Vedic scriptures, engage in devotional practices, and make lasting friendships with like-minded individuals.
Heritage Fest
Heritage Fest 2024 was celebrated on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami. The two-day festival brought children together through cultural competitions and activities inspired by Lord Krishna and India’s spiritual traditions.
Culture Camp at Hare Krishna Gokula Kshetram introduces children to the Bhagavad Gita, Vedic stories and devotional practices in an enjoyable and engaging way. Through sloka recitation, music, art, mantra meditation and group activities, children develop values such as respect, kindness, discipline and compassion. The camp also helps them understand India’s spiritual and cultural heritage while spending their summer holidays meaningfully.
The Vedic scriptures recommend different spiritual practices for different ages. Meditation was prescribed for Satya-yuga, yajnas and fire sacrifices for Treta-yuga, and elaborate Deity worship for Dvapara-yuga. For Kali-yuga, the recommended practice is Harinama Sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord.
The Hare Krishna maha-mantra offers a simple path to spiritual progress:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama Rama Rama, Hare Hare
